The N19 Safety Net
What will the Safety Check involve?
The Safety Check worker will visit your home having made an appointment with you. She will:
- Check your home with you for all common causes of accidents and injury.
- Tell you what she has found.
- Agree with you what can be done to improve your safety.
- Tell you what work Mobile Repair can do to make your home safer.
What will be checked?
Amongst other things we can check
- Floor coverings
- Trailing wires, slippery mats
- Electrical sockets - do they need raising?
- Lighting
- Curtain rails
- Access to shelves and cupboards
- The need for rails in bathrooms and on stairs.
- Ease of use, and access to, gas, water and electric controls.
- Phone - extra sockets needed?
- Smoke alarm
- Door security
